National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.At the time of its golden jubilee in 1969, it was renamed as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following position under the project entitled: “Development of online modules on nutrition hoasted on ICMR-NIN/MWCD Platform as well as swaym portal of MHRD (POSHAN Abhiyaan)”.
Essential Qualifications
1. M.Sc. (Life Sciences) with Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Zoology from recognized University. OR MBBS with MPH/ MD from recognized University.
2. 25 years research experience as evidenced by publications (more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals).
Desirable : Experience in developing education material in health and nutrition.
Nature of duties : Health and Nutrition Education Material Development and Research.
Age : Below 70 years.
Consolidated Fee : Rs.1,00,000/- per month fixed without any allowances.
Tenure : Initially for 6 months, extendable as per project requirement and performance.
Place of work : ICMR-NIN, Hyderabad.
The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), Experience, Aadhaar Card/ Address Proof along with one set of photocopies of the same duly attested (can be self attested) along with a passport size photograph for attending the Written Test/ Interview. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the Written Test/ Interview. The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per rules and will have to give an undertaking before joining.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The conditions of employment will be the same as that of the project staff on contract basis. The candidates have no right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept/ reject any application without assigning any reason(s) and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained. Age, qualifications, etc., will be reckoned as on the date of interview.
