Research at NCBS (a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) uses experimental and computational approaches to the study of molecules, cells and organisms. They aim to understand biology at each of these levels to advance an integrated view of life processes.

The Accelerator programme for Discovery in Brain disorders using Stem cells (ADBS) is a scientific venture to understand mental illness by harnessing the power of modern human genetics and stem cell technology. The Program is a collaborative initiative of three institutions from Bengaluru, India – the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). The program involves generation and analysis of cellular models using patient derived human induced pluripotent stem cells (HiPSCs) and its differentiated derivatives.

Description: A Senior Research Fellow position is available for candidate with cell and molecular biology expertise to work in this program. The appointment will be a fixed term position initially for a period of one (1) year that may be extended up to a maximum of three years depending on the performance of the candidate. The position comes with a consolidated pay based on their qualification and experience.

Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in biological sciences or a relevant area.

Desirable: Experience in live cell imaging, microscopy or physiology would be an advantage

Salary: As per institute norms.

The position is available starting: January 1, 2019

Age Limit for the above position: Below 35 years
