CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, a premier Institute under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is involved in generating cutting edge knowledge and trained human resources in the field of chemical biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genomics, epigenomics, structural biology, bioinformatics, and medicinal chemistry to address fundamental and applied biological and biomedical research questions associated with infectious and non-infectious diseases that are relevant to this country and in the global context.

A Walk-in-Interview will be conducted at CSIR-IICB, Jadavpur campus, Kolkata on 14th October, 2026 (Wednesday) to select around 16 (sixteen) nos. [may increase or decrease] suitable candidates for temporary engagement under different Projects in the areas as given below.

Remuneration
Project Associate-I : (a) Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA Per month (with CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship / assistant professorship OR GATE those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions. (b) Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA for those who do not fall under (a) above.
Senior Project Associate : Rs. 42,000/- Plus 30% HRA
Project Scientist-I : Rs. 56,000/- p.m plus 30% HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of experience in the same project

Terms & Conditions
1. The project positions are for the duration up to one year initially, extension can be considered based on the requirement and review by the review committee and shall be decided as per CSIR rules for engagement of project staff. 
2. The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances shall the total tenure exceed six years, including engagement in all CSIR labs. Performance will be reviewed periodically and unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
3. The engagement is purely temporary & co-terminus with the project and therefore, does not confer any right / claim implicit or explicit for regularization or absorption against any IICB / CSIR post. 
4. The age and qualifications will be reckoned as on the date of interview. 
5. The relaxation in upper age limit of the candidates belonging to the category of SC / ST / PwBD / Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively as per CSIR guidelines.
