NIMHANS is conducting a Walk in Selection for filling up the post of “Postdoctoral Fellow (Non-Medical), Junior Research Fellow (JRF) & Project Manager” on contract basis for the Wellcome Trust, UK funded research project titled “Role of Heat related Gut Microbiota brain axis changes in Psychosis (HeatMap)” under Principal Investigator: Dr Dinakaran D, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychosocial Support in Disaster Management and co-principal investigators: Dr. G. Venkatasubramanian, Department of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, and Dr. Sreeraj V. S, Department of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru - 560 029.

NIMHANS is conducting a Walk in Selection for Postdoctoral Fellow (Non-Medical), Junior Research Fellow

Postdoctoral Fellow (Non-Medical)
No. of post : 01 (One)
Essential Qualification : 1. Master’s in chemistry/Life sciences AND
2. PhD in Life science AND
3. Minimum 3 years of post-PhD experience in neuroscience research

Essential Experience : 1. Experience in mass spectrometry for metabolomics/proteomics and associated down steam analyses
2. Blood sample processing & storage
3. Cell culture experience
4. Experience in transcriptomics
5. Enzyme kinetics, immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry

Job Description : The work involves (but not restricted to) extensive standardization of the pipelines and implementation of:
1. Blood sample processing & storage
2. Proteomics and protein analysis workflow
3. Metabolomics using Liquid chromatography-Mass spectrometry
4. Gut microbiota assays
5. In-vitro experiments in LCL models.

Emoluments / Salary : Rs. 1,10,000/- per month (consolidated)
Maximum Age Limit : 40 years
Duration of Project : 5 Years
Duration of Post : Initial appointment will be made for a period of 6 months, which will be extendable depending upon the performance.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
No. of post : 01 (one)
Essential Qualification : • Master’s degree in Clinical psychology from a recognized university/Institution AND
• Prior experience in conducting field visits/home visits in Bengaluru AND
• Prior experience in working with individuals with mental disorders
Desirable Qualifications : Fellowship in psychosocial support in disaster management from recognized institutions

Job Description : • Participants’ recruitment, data collection, and home/field follow up visits
• Sampling environmental exposome data
• Clinical, research and academic responsibilities under the faculty members and investigators of the project
• Candidates aspiring to register for supported PhD program will be given preference
Work location : Bengaluru, India

Emoluments / Salary : Rs. 48000/- per month (consolidated)
Maximum Age Limit : 35 years
Duration of Project : 5 Years
Duration of Post : Initial appointment will be made for a period of 6 months, which will be extendable depending upon the performance.

Note
• Candidates are required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the interview 
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview. 
• Candidates currently working in projects (Extramural/Intramural) at NIMHANS must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator. 
• The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% in the written examination (Whenever written examination is indicated) to qualify for the skill test/interview. For Direct Interview the candidate should score at least 50% Marks in the interview.
 • The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate. Possession of the prescribed essential qualifications alone does not guarantee selection. 
• No hostel accommodation will be provided for project staff.
