Regional Centre for Biotechnology recruitment for Project Scientist Position

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an 'Institution of National Importance' providing education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The Centre is focused on cooperatively working towards shared biotechnology growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. Regional interactions in biotechnology will promote co-operation amongst the countries to develop necessary infrastructure and capacity building for economic benefit of our societies. The Centre would be beneficial in developing knowledge rich, highly skilled human resource to be employed globally. RCB is a part of the Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) and operates in synergy with the other institutions in the Cluster.

Recruitment for Project Scientist-II Position

Title of Project: MOMI scale up nutritional and multi-omics analysis (Phase III).
Preterm birth represents a major global public health challenge and remains the leading cause of neonatal mortality. India contributes to nearly one-fourth of all preterm births and related deaths worldwide. Gaining insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying preterm birth is vital for its early prediction and prevention. The current project focuses on developing a targeted mass spectrometry-based protein quantification method for a panel of proteins implicated in pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia and preterm birth.

We seek a candidate with strong expertise in molecular cloning, mutagenesis, protein expression and purification, protein characterization, isotopic labeling, and structural analysis.
Duration: Initially for six months and may be extended after performance evaluation every six months till the end of the project.
Age Limit: 40 Years as on 31st October 2025.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biotechnology or Life Sciences with a strong publication record in protein science or proteomics-related research.
Desirable: Extensive hands-on experience in molecular cloning, mutagenesis, protein expression, purification, and biomolecular characterization.
