Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) formerly known as National Research Institute of Ayurvedic Drug Development and Central Research Institute of Ayurveda which was earlier established as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) on 1971 at Jagannath Dutta Lane, Kolkata and then the Institute was shifted to Bidhannagar, Kolkata on 1997 in its own building. Govt. of West Bengal had provided 3 acres land in the most posh area of Kolkata (SEZ) for the present campus. CARI Kolkata is presently functioning with six departments, namely Hospital (OPD & IPD), Pathology Biochemistry & Microbiology, Pharmacognosy, Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacy.

Walk-in-interview for the eligible candidates will be held on purely temporary basis in EMR Ayurgyan and IMR research project at Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), 4 CN Block, Bidhannagar, Sector V, Kolkata-700091. The required qualifications and other details are as under:
Title: Exploring protective potential of selected species of Dioscorea in process of aging and Alzheimer's disease using Drosophila and rat animal models.
Project: EMR Aurgyan
Duration: Six months
Post: Senior Research Fellow (Pharmacology)

Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree from recognized university/ Institute in M.V.Sc. / M.Pharm. / M.S (Pharm.). M.Pharm. in Pharmacology / Toxicology/ M.Pharm. (Ayu.)
or M.Sc. in Zoology/Biotechnology with minimum two years experience.
Desirable: The preference will be given to candidate with two years hands experience on animal experimentation.
Age limit: Not exceeding 35 years as on 01.01.2025
Monthly remuneration: Rs.42.000/- + 27% HRA per month
Date and time of written test and interview: 27/10/2025. (Monday) 10 AM
Title: Evaluation of acute dermal toxicity, 90 days repeated dose dermal toxicity, analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of AYUSH MML Oil in rodent model.

Duration: Four months

Essential Qualifications: M.Pharm/ M.V.Sc../ M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmacology/ Pharmacology and Toxicology/ Regulatory Toxicology from a recognized university/ Institute.
Desirable: The preference will be given to the one with experience in laboratory animal handling.
Age limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on 01.01.2025
Monthly remuneration: Rs.37,000/- + 30% HRA per month
Date and time of written test and interview: 27/10/2025, (Monday) 10 AM
Interested candidates fulfilling the essential qualifications and age limit may apply in the prescribed proforma along with self attested copy of certificates in support of age and essential qualification, experience certificate (if any), and two passport size recent photographs. The candidates are required to appear for written test followed by interview at the Seminar hall of CARI, Kolkata as per scheduled date and time. The Candidates will be required to carry their original testimonials for verification. The interested candidates must reach the venue at 10.00 am on the stipulated date and beyond that, no candidate will be allowed for interview.
Notes:-
1. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project and no
claim for regular/permanent appointment will be entertained.
2. The engagement will be initially for a period of six months, which may be extended up to the tenure of the project subject to satisfactory performance.
3. The eligibility of candidates in respect of age will be determined as on 01.01.2025 & relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt, of India rules.
4. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
5. Any discrepancies between English and Hindi versions, English version will be considered final.
