Vacancy for Senior Research Fellow at KGMU

Applications are invited for following purely temporary posts (likely to continue for three years and subject to change without any prior information) in the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, sponsored research project entitled, Development of primary human microglial/astrocyte cell-based model for neurodegenerative diseases under Principal Investigator Prof. Shailendra Saxena, Stem Cell/Cell Culture Lab, Dept. of Centre for Advanced Research (CFAR), KGMU, Lucknow.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (One posts)

Appointment will be made initially for the period of one year, extendable on yearly basis depending upon the performance of the candidate. The selected candidate cannot claim for regular appointment as the post is coterminus with the project (position will cease to exist once the project is completed). Appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project. Incomplete application form will not be entertained.

Qualification and experience
Essential : Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Zoology or equivalent) with two years of relevant research experience; OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following with two years of relevant research experience:
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIRUGC NET/Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / GATE.
b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
Desirables : Prior research experience of working in a cell and molecular biology lab with training in cell culture and basic cell biology techniques such as protein/RNA extraction, NGS, PCR, Western blotting, cytometry, immunostaining and microscopy etc. is desirable, with publication. Advance knowledge of using computers for data analysis and record keeping is required.

Stipend : Rs. 35,000/- + HRA per month (as per rules)

Interviews will be held on 23/10/2021 at 11.00 A.M. in the Dept. of Centre for Advanced Research (CFAR), King George’s Medical University, Lucknow-226003. Candidates are directed to report for interview with all relevant documents in original. No separate call letters shall be issued and no T.A/ D.A. shall be paid for attending the interview.
