Savitribai Phule Pune University, one of the premier universities in India, is positioned in the North-western part of Pune city. It occupies an area of about 411 acres. It was established on 10th February, 1949 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.
Applications are invited for two posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF- SC, 01 post & Open, 01 post) and one post of Research Assistant approved under the Israel Science Foundation and UGC sponsored Indo-Israel Joint Research Programme on “Role of chironomid midge microbiome versus its intrinsic physiological factors in maintaining homeostasis under environmental stress conditions ” sanctioned to Prof. B. B. Nath at the Department of Zoology, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of posts to be filled: Two Post category: SC, 01 post & Open, 01 post
Emoluments: Rs. 32,500.00 per month (fixed for first two years of the project)
Duration: Till the end of project (30.04.2021). The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.
Eligibility and necessary qualification: M.Sc. in Life Sciences/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology with minimum of 55% marks or 50% in case of SC. Preference will be given to candidates with UGC-CSIR NET/SET qualification or with at least one year of research experience in the relevant area.
Research Assistant
Number of posts to be filled: One Post category: Open
Emoluments: Rs. 20,000.00 per month (fixed)
Duration: Till the end of project (30.04.2021). The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.
Eligibility and necessary qualification: M.Sc. degree in any branch of Life Sciences will be desirable. Experience of working in a Biology laboratory will be preferred. The Research Assistant is expected to carry out rearing of insect model systems in the laboratory, maintenance of insectary and routine laboratory-related work including administrative assistance.
