Post : Post Doctoral Scholar (College of Pharmacy Academic Fellowship)

Salary Range : USD 57,000
Required License / Registration / Certification : Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (applies only to PharmD applicants)  
Physical Requirements : Sitting and standing for long periods of time; lifting up to 10lbs on occasion; walking / traveling through campus/UKHC 
Shift : Standard 40-hour week
Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy Academic Fellowship offers an opportunity for a PharmD or PhD graduate to gain valuable academic experiences in teaching, scholarship, and service while learning from and working alongside award-winning faculty.  The Fellowship is targeted toward graduates who have obtained a PharmD and completed one or two years of residency training and/or have obtained a PhD, with or without postdoctoral training, in pharmaceutical sciences or pharmacy outcomes. While being mentored for a career in academia, the Fellow will have the opportunity to develop and hone teaching skills with various types of teaching experiences. They will also engage in one or more teaching and learning scholarship projects and participate on various College committees and work groups. PharmD Fellows will also have a small clinical component within the University of Kentucky Healthcare system based on their area of expertise. The Fellow will be encouraged to enroll in and complete one to two masters level education courses per semester.

Activities
• Teach and/or facilitate various lectures within the PharmD and/or graduate curriculum
• Engage in educational activities of resident and APPE students on academia rotations
• Participate in College curriculum service activities (iCATS, Service Learning, PaCE, etc.)
• Conduct scholarly research in the area of teaching and learning
• Participate in curriculum, teaching, and/or educational projects
• Attend Department & College Faculty meetings
• Attend College Curriculum Committee meetings
• Attend College & University faculty development workshops/seminars
• Participate in College book and journal clubs
• Assist with the College’s tutoring program
• Staff the equivalent of one 8-hour shift per week as a clinical pharmacist with UK Healthcare Pharmacy Services (applies only to PharmD Fellows)

The Fellowship year will be July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
The Fellow will reside in the Office of Teaching Innovation & Scholarship (OTIS)/Office of Academic Programs, report to the Director of OTIS, work closely with the Assistant Dean of the Professional Program, and receive mentorship from various College faculty. The clinical component of the Fellowship will report to UK Healthcare Pharmacy Services
