The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab.

Applications are invited for the ONE post of SCIENTIST-B in ICMR funded project entitled "Development of Nano-enabled teriparatide loaded pharmaceutical product for osteoporosis - A approach to reduce the dose frequency with better patient compliance therapeutic efficacy" under Dr Sanjay Kumar Bhadada, Department of Endocrinology .
Essential qualifications :
I) First Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences/ Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Nanotechnology + minimum 3 year research experience in field of Nanotechnology supported by minimum one first author publication
OR
II) PhD degree in Held of Life Sciences/ Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Nanotechnology with minimum one first author publication in related field
Desirable qualifications : Research experience in synthesis and characterization of Nano-formulation as well as in-vitro and in-vivo experiments.
Emoluments : As per ICMR emoluments’ guidelines and service conditions
Age Limit : 35 years as on date of interview. (Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBO women candidates as per GOI instructions).
Duration : Post is a purely temporary and appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and w ill be extended on yearly basis depending upon satisfactory' performance and co-terminus with the project.
