New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Posting Summary
Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Postdoctoral Associate conducts research on the function of connexin channels and calcium-activated potassium channels in endothelial cells or heterologous expression systems. This involves independently carrying out experiments and contributing to projects focused on the purification and reconstitution of connexin hemichannels, as well as the electrophysiological characterization of connexin channels and their mutations associated with vascular.
Among the key duties of this position are the following :
• Participate in experimental design and carries out experiments.
• Operates and maintains experimental equipment.
• Records and analyzes data from experiments.
• Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
• Contribute to the intellectual development of the project.

Salary Details
Minimum Salary : 20,000
Mid Range Salary : 90,000
Maximum Salary : 200,000

Candidate Profile
• Ph.D. and or M.D./Ph.D. with degree in Physiology or Neuroscience Certifications/Licenses
• Experience in vascular biology and/or large pore channels (e.g., connexin, pannexin channels)
• Substantial demonstrated expertise in electrophysiological techniques.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Individual must be able to work independently
