Call for Fellowships at GBU | Require Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Life Sciences candidates

Applications are invited for the post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to work under the research project entitled “Process scaleup studies for sustainable Biohydrogen production exploring lignocellulosic derived sugar using E. coli [Strain- gbu3gAflx]: a circular economic paradigm” funded by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Govt. of Gujarat at Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) under Dr. Sudheer Pamidimarri. The post is purely temporary and co-terminates with the project.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
No. of post : 1
Minimum Qualifications : M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ B.Tech. or equivalent in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences and allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks in the preceding qualification.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Candidates who have qualified the CSIR-UGC-NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR- JRF/GATE etc. National-level exams will be preferred.
• Prior experience in molecular biology, such as cloning, Gene knockout, metabolic engineering, heterologous protein expression and interested in handling and maintaining bioreactors and scaleup process.
• Proficiency in scientific writing is desirable.
• Students in their last semester of their masters course also encouraged to apply, however students must be completed their masters course and required produce the proof of course completion at the time of joining.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
No. of post : 1
Minimum Qualifications : • M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ B.Tech. or equivalent in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences and allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks in the preceding qualification
• 2 years of research experience as a JRF or research assistant/Research Fellow post master’s course.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Candidates who have good experience in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, genome editing via CRIPR tools in bacterial system.
• Good analytical skills in GC-MS, GC-FID, GC-TCD and HPLC are preferred.

Age Limit : Up to 35 years on closing date of advertisement for JRF and 38 years for SRF
Fellowship Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable on an annual basis for subsequent years (total 3 years or project tenure) subject to satisfactory progress, and financial provisions.

Fellowship for JRF : Rs. 36,000/- per month inclusive of HRA (NET/GATE or national-level exam qualified candidates) as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines. OR Rs.23,213/- fixed per month (For candidates who have not qualified for the national- level-examinations such as NET/GATE) as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines.
Fellowship for JRF : Rs. 40,600/- per month inclusive of HRA as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines
