The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC- inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. 

BRIC-inStem invites applications (online) from eligible candidates for contractual position of following Scientific position in the laboratory of Dr. Sunil Laxman . We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result- oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Post : Postdoctoral fellow (Under India Alliance Senior Fellowship to Sunil Laxman)

Qualification & Experience : • PhD in chemistry or biological sciences or computational sciences 
• Hands on expertise and direct instrument operation & handling for mass spectrometry based analysis for metabolomics, metabolic flux, and quantitative proteomics. 
• Required expertise with Analyst, Multiquant or Skyline and familiarity with AB Sciex Q-TOF and Q-TRAP/triple quadrupole mass spectrometer systems. - Building/using genome scale metabolic models, including flux-constrained models. 
• Expertise in working with yeast model systems, including long term adaptive evolution for metabolic selection.
• Computational skills, including basic programming capabilities, and working with R.

Job Description : The project is in systems biology, to develop new cell factory chassis strains. The postdoc will focus on large-scale metabolic engineering and adaptive selection, as well as design/build controllable expression systems, to study metabolic organizations and manipulate resource allocations in funal cell factories. The required expertise listed and publications are essential.

Tenure : Contractual appointment for 11 Eleven months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.

7. The Institute can fix the consolidated salary lower/ higher in the given range 
8. No claim for any service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Seniority and promotion, etc. is applicable to this post. 
9. The incumbent will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of BRIC-inStem in force from time to time and follow the discipline rules of the institute failing which the contract may be withdrawn at any point in time.
