Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions under the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bio resources with human health and industrial significance.”
Post : Project Scientist – I/II
Project duration : Up to 31.03.2026 or the completion of the project as per GoI orders and based on annual performance appraisal.
Number of posts : 02 (01 – Proteomics/ Metabolomics ; 01 – Bioinformatics)
Upper age limit : 35 years (PS-I) / 40 years (PS-II)
Remuneration : 56,000/- per month + 18% HRA(PS-I) / 67,000/- per month +18% HRA (PS-II)
Eligibility criteria Essential qualifications : Doctoral degree in science or Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent and 1-3 years (or more) of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations and equivalent.
Desirable qualifications : Proteomics/ Metabolomics - Candidate should have completed a Ph.D. in any field of life sciences with extensive experience in Microbiology / Pharmacy / Marine biology / Virology / Natural products chemistry / Bioprospecting etc. Experience working in area of identification and characterization of natural bio-resource thorough proteomics / metabolomics using UHPLC and High Resolution Mass spectrometer along with the Knowledge of operating mass spectrometer, acquisition and analysis of data, interpretation and integration of various omics data will be preferred. Candidates with experience in the above field and publications in peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply Bioinformatics - Candidate should have completed a Ph.D. with extensive experience in machine learning/AI/bioinformatics/cheminformatics/multi-omics integration etc. Candidates with experience in the above fields and publications in peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply.

System administration, managing HPC operations, installation, configuration, fine- tuning, and troubleshooting Linux HPC servers, building and deploying open source/commercial software, diagnosing and resolving system operational problems quickly and effectively, providing technical support software installation, troubleshooting, data backup/recovery, day to day operations of the bioinformatics facility
All the positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
