NIAB is an autonomous and premier institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The Institute aims to develop and harness novel and emerging biotechnological tools and applications, and take up research in cutting-edge areas for improving animal health and productivity as well as contribute to human health and welfare.

Post : Research Associate – II (1 Position)

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.

Project Title : Bacteriophages for mitigating bovine mastitis and antimicrobial resistance.
PI : Dr. Nagendra R. Hegde.
Project duration : 3 years.
Tenable for up to one year, likely to be extended based on performance and co-terminus with the project duration.

Eligibility : Minimum Essential Qualification : 1. PhD/MD/MDS or equivalent degree OR MVSc / MPharm / ME / MTech, with three years of research, teaching and design and development experience, with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal AND 2. Two (2) years of further research experience. All qualifications must be from a recognized board or university. All the experience gained shall preferably be from a government organization and shall be counted after the date of completion of the minimum essential qualification.
Desirable Experience : Microbiology, cloning, protein expression and purification, bacteriophage techniques.

Age limit : 40 years (relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms).

Remuneration : Rs. 61,000/-PM + applicable HRA as per DST guidelines.
