The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.

Project Scientist - 01 post
Essential: MPH or M. Tech/ M.Sc in relevant field with years of experience in related field
Desirable : At least one paper published in SCI Indexed Journal
Salary : Rs. 48,000/- per month

Research Assistant - 02 posts
Essential: Graduation in Science/ relevant subjects from a recognized institution/university with three years of work experience from a recognized institution or Masters degree in relevant subject.
Desirable : Master degree with desirable experience of 1 year relevant area
Salary : Rs. 31,000/- per month

Post is purely on contract basis for 18 Months. The job Profile for the above post is field based. She will be posted at rural locations in North India. He/She shall be liable to be on call duty beyond duty hours which shall not normally exceed 12 hours at a time.
