The National Institute of Nutrition is an Indian Public health, Nutrition and Translational research center located in Hyderabad, India. The institute is one of the oldest research centers in India, and the largest center, under the Indian Council of Medical Research, located in the vicinity of Osmania University.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following positions under the project entitled “Biomonitoring of blood trans-fatty acid levels in Indians : baseline data" funded by CDC Foundation, Atlanta, and executing agency is ICMR-NIN.

Research Associate - 01 post

Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Biochemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Chemistry / Life Sciences. Relevant publications in peer reviewed journals

Desirable : Minimum 3 years research experience in analytical methods such as GC-MS/LC-MS with adequate knowledge in method development / validation and QC/QA programme. Experience in handling stable Isotopes.

Nature of duties : Laboratory analysis of Blood Fatty Acids using GC-MS/MS

Age* : 40 years. Relaxed upper age limit by two years in case of women candidates or as per experience

Consolidated Emoluments : Rs. 1,07,798/- (consolidated) p.m. without any allowances.

Tenure : 8 months

Place of work : Food Chemistry Division, NIN.

Technical Assistant - 01 post (UR)

Essential Qualifications : Post graduate in Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences with at least 60% marks

Desirable : 1-2 years work experience in HPLC/GC /GC-MS with adequate knowledge of mass spectrometry

Nature of duties : Laboratory analysis of Blood Fatty Acids using GC-MS/MS.

Age* : 30 years.

Consolidated Emoluments : Rs.90,778/- (consolidated) p.m. without any allowances

Tenure : 8 months

Place of work : Food Chemistry Division, NIN.

Age Concession : Age relaxation is admissible in respect of Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.

Selection Procedure : Interview will be conducted for the eligible candidates after verification of the Certificates. However, if more number of candidates are found eligible for the post advertised, Written Test/Skill Test may also be conducted on the same day for final round of interview.

Applications will be received from the individuals by hand on the following dates between 9.00 to 09.30 A.M. at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad for Walk-in- Written Test /Interview. The candidates will not be allowed to enter the Institute after 09.30 A.M. under any circumstances. If the candidates are not able to download the application form, it will be provided to the candidates at the venue on the date of Walk-in-Written Test / Interview. The applicants are advised to visit our website regularly for any updates and changes in the recruitment.

The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), experience, Aadhar card and community certificates along with one set of photocopies of the same duly attested (can be self attested) along with a passport size photograph for attending the Written Test / Interview. The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per rules and will have to give an undertaking before joining.

General conditions: The appointment will be the same as for the project staff (on contract basis) for a period of 8 months i.e the tenure of the project and no other regular service benefits will be admissible. The candidate will not have any right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained. Candidates applying for more than one post need to submit separate application for each post. Age, qualifications etc. will be reckoned as on the ate of written test / interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.
