Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003. Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences. The goal is for overall development and betterment of human health, longevity, agriculture and environment. Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following position.

Post : Senior Research Fellow

Project Title : The development and implementation of sensors and treatment technologies for freshwater systems in India

Fellowship: Rs.35,000/- per month+ @ 16% HRA

Eligibility: Candidates must hold a M.Sc. degree with first class in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences or allied subjects with two years of research experience. Practical knowledge and experiences in Microbial Genomics is required. Preference will be given to the candidates having interest in Bioinofmatics and computational Biology. For Non- NET/GATE applicants the amount of fellowship will be as per Govt. of India norms.

Age Limit : The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 32 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India guidelines.

Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.

Initial appointment will be for one year, extendable up to two years or until termination of project whichever is earlier. The position is purely temporary and coterminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
