The Institute is located at SAS Nagar, adjoining the beautiful city of Chandigarh. It is ideally placed for intellectual interaction with the several medical, scientific and technological centers. Applications are invited from interested individuals for the post of Junior Research Fellow in the SERB funded research project entitled “Identification of calcium activated potassium channels and understanding their role in viability and infectivity of Leishmania donovani ” in the Department of Biotechnology, NIPER, SAS Nagar

Fellowship : Rs. 25000/- consolidated

PI/Department : Dr. Sushma Singh, Biotechnology

Educational Qualification : M.Sc in Biochemistry/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ OR M.S.(Pharm)/ M.Pharm/ M.Tech in Biotechnology.
Desirable: Hands on experience in cell culture, recombinant DNA techniques, microbiology, protein expression and protein chemistry

Minimum CGPA OF 6.75 (or 60% marks) for General, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50% marks) for physically handicapped (PH) candidates on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination. GATE/GPAT/NET qualification is essential. Reservation of SC/ST and PH is as per GOI rules.

Age Limit: 28 years (may be relaxed depending upon the suitability of qualification & experience and Relaxation for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per GOI rules).

The post is contractual in nature and does not have right to permanency. The above position is purely temporary initially for one year extendable for a period of one year based on the satisfaction of the PI (GP-428).

Candidates should report at the venue by 9.45 AM, and bring three copies of the application giving details of educational qualifications, experience with the name of the Institute, post held, scale of pay and past salary.

Application should be accompanied by demand draft for Rs. 100/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PH) in favour of "Director NIPER", drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Mohali/ Chandigarh. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE TREATED AS DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POST.
