Indian Institute of Technology Madras, is one among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education, basic and applied research. In 1956, the German Government offered technical assistance for establishing an institute of higher education in engineering in India. The first Indo-German agreement in Bonn, West Germany for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras was signed in 1959.

Applications are invited for temporary post of "PROJECT ASSOCIATE" for the "DST/MeiTY" project (Project# ELE1718351DSTXENAK) on “Nanoelectronics NETwork for Research & Applications (NNetRA) .’’ in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Qualification
BSc/M.Sc./B-Tech/ M-Tech Biology, Biotechnology or Biochemistry or similar

Pay Range
Rs.30,000/-p.m as per the IC&SR norms

Desirable experience : Candidate is expected to have good background in immunoassay. The project involves the development of experimental protocol and opto-microfluidics platform for the detection of procalcitonin and gasotransmitters. Prior experience with fluorescent antibody based detection and opto-microfluidics platform will be preferred. The candidate should be open to take up other responsibilities related to microfluidics research under the guidance of the project coordinator.

Candidates should not be a recipient of Research Fellowship (i.e. HTRA), if so give details of the date(s) and amount of award, duration, name of the concerned Scheme / Principal Investigator / Institution & supporting agency.

The Co-ordinator has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications that are higher than the minimum prescribed in the announcement.

Application on plain paper giving name, date of birth, age, address, full details of educational qualifications (stating the marks, ranks, year of passing) and experience etc., along with copies of certificates, should reach the following address on or before 15.05.2018. Candidates already working in any project at IIT, Madras should send their application through the Co-ordinator of the project.
