The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Panjab University is a premier institution of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in the country. The institute has covered a long and glorious journey of 76 years starting from Lahore in 1944 and finally settling to the present campus in Chandigarh at the foothills of Himachal. In its travelogue, the institute crossed multiple milestones and continue to head ahead towards the well-defined goals. The elevation of the status from department to the level of an institute i.e. University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1994, and hosting of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress in the same year, two presidential honors of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congresses to its faculty members, a special recognition by the UGC by granting SAP in 1993 and COSIST in 1981 establishment of ICMR Advanced Centre for standardization of Drugs of Indian System of Medicine are some of the major hallmarks on the path treaded so far.
Post : Project Assistant Laboratory
Applications are invited for one position of Project Assistant Laboratory (purely temporary) of Cluster Innovation Centre in Biotechnology (CIC-B) at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The CIC-B is sponsored by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Govt. of India.
Project : University Innovation Cluster in Biotechnology
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology or Microbial Biotechnology. OR Applicants who have completed their 4 years of education after 10+2 (B. Sc.+1year of education as post graduate (Pre-M.Sc.) student with upcoming research project/s in at least one semester of 2nd year as a part of curriculum with credits, in fields of life sciences like Microbiology, Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology etc. are eligible. In this case, the project can be submitted as M. Sc. thesis, basic criteria sticking to innovation and plagiarismfree concepts. The candidate will have to pursue the project even after completion of the Master’s degree and take the project to completion. These candidates can also register for Ph. D., strictly as per the norms of the University.
Emoluments : Rs 12,500/- per month.
Nature of job : The selected candidate would be expected to carry out work on CIC-B projects and also assist the Innovation fellows and the incubatee companies.
