All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, established in 1932 as a first school of Public Health in South-East Asia region, has been a Pioneer Institute of its kind dedicated to teaching, training, and research in various disciplines of Public Health and allied sciences to ensure capacity building in the area of Public Health. The teaching, training, and research at AIIH &;PH have the unique support of its field laboratories, namely, Urban Health Center, Chetla and Rural Health Unit & Training Center, Singur.

Educational Qualification : Master's degree in Organic Chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry or Physiology of a recognized University or equivalent.
Experience :
5 years' teaching/research experience.
Desirable : Doctorate degree in any one of the subjects of
essential qualification at (A) (i) above
Duties :
(i) To impart theoretical and practical instructions to undergraduate/ postgraduate medical / allied health students;
(ii) To conduct and guide research work in the specialty;
(iii) Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time.
Age Limit : Up to 40 years (age as on crucial date); the crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the date of interview. Age is relaxable for SC/ST candidates up to 5 years, up to 3 years for OBC candidates and up to 10 years in case of PwBD candidates. Age relaxation is also applicable for Govt, servants up to 5 years in accordance with extant rules.
Emoluments : The contract appointee will be given a consolidated salary not exceeding Rs.1,00,000/- per month. No other allowances are admissible.
Reservation Criteria :
Reservations have been provided in the above post strictly in accordance with norms/ rules as prescribed by the Govt, of India.

Application Procedure :
1. The duly filled and signed original application form must be produced at the time of registration during Walk in Interview along with one (1) set of self-attested photocopies of Degrees, Certificates, Mark Sheets, Age proof, Caste certificate, experience certificates, PwBD certificate, EWS certificate, etc., as applicable. All the above MUST also be produced in original for verification at the time of Walk in Interview.
2. Registration process: Candidates will have to register themselves for interview from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m at AIIH&PH (Main Campus), 110, C. R. Avenue, Kolkata-700073 on the day of Walk- in-lnterview, along with the application form duly filled in the prescribed format as per Annexure- I with all relevant documents as per checklist provided in Annexure II, and proof of application fee submission, if applicable. No registration will be entertained after 11.30 a.m.
Application Fee :
(i) For General/ EWS/ OBC categories : Rs. 500/(ii)
For SC/ST categories : Rs. 300/-
(iii) For Women and PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) : Rs. NIL
Fee may be paid online through Bharat Kosh ( bharatkosh.gov.in)(process to be followed given in Annexure III) or by Demand Draft in Favour of "Director AIIH&PH Kolkata" payable at Kolkata. Application fee once paid is non-refundable.
4. After the registration there will be scrutiny of the applications followed interview of eligible candidates.
5. If any candidate, who joins the post but leaves/resigns/gets terminated before completion of tenure, he/she may do so by giving one month's prior notice from either side as per the rules or by depositing pay and allowance in lieu thereof, with the Institute for the period of which notice falls short of one month or so.
6. Applicants working in Central /State Govt. /Semi Govt./Autonomous Institution must submit a "NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE" (NOC) in the given proforma (Annexure IV) from the Employer at the time of screening/interview clearly stating that the candidate will be permitted to join AIIH&PH, Kolkata in the event of their selection. The candidate will be allowed to appear for the interview only on production of original NOC.
Terms & Conditions
1. Age and other qualifications/Experience will be counted as on date of interview.
2. The prescribed qualification is minimum and merely possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection.
3. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification; incomplete applications will not be considered and will be REJECTED. No further communication will be entertained in this regard.
4. Applications received without accompanying proof of fee payment shall not be considered.
5. Selected candidates have to perform duties as assigned by Director, AIIH&PH, Kolkata.
6. Candidates have to abide by the rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to the contractual employees of similar status.
7. In case, any information/ declaration given by the candidate is found to be false or if the candidate has wilfully suppressed any information relevant to this appointment, he/she will be liable to be removed from service and action may also be taken as deemed fit by the competent authority.
8. The letter of C A of provisionally selected candidate as approved by MoHFW will be sent to the incumbent. No correspondence, either regarding selection/ non selection or marks obtained by candidates shall be entertained.
9. Medical examination: The provisionally selected candidates would have to get themselves declared medically fit by a government medical board not below District level before joining. The entire process of joining, including medical fitness would have to be completed within 30 days of declaration of results. Final Contractual Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her medical fitness being declared by the competent Medical Board and fulfilling of other criteria laid down by the institute.
10. Selected candidate who is medically fit may be permitted to join provisionally, pending police verification, with an undertaking from the candidate that they shall not be eligible for continuing the service, in case anything adverse is reported.
11. The decision of the competent authority with regard to selection/joining process shall be final and binding and no representation will be entertained in this regard.
12. There is no provision for displaying marks obtained/ interview marks. No query in this regard will be entertained.
13. Disputes arising, if any, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Hon'ble Calcutta High Court.
14. Self-Attested Photocopies of degrees, Certificates, Mark sheets, Age proof, Caste certificate, PwBD certificate, experience certificates, appropriate documentation for published/accepted papers, etc. (according to the checklist provided in Annexure II) is required to be annexed in hard copy with the application and the same shall also be produced in original during verification.
15. Selected candidate shall not accept any other assignment, paid or otherwise during the period of the contract.
16. If an appointee wishes to apply somewhere else or resign within the first three (03)
months of joining, then he/she will neither be issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) nor any
Relieving Letter/ Experience Certificate. One month's notice is required to initiate the NOC after
completion of three months from the date of joining.
17. The appointee shall not be entitled to any benefit like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion etc. or any other benefits available to the Government Servants, who are appointed on regular basis.
18. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law. In case any disciplinary/ court/ police proceedings are pending, including at the previous place/s of work, candidate has to inform about the same in writing to competent authority at AIIHPH, Kolkata at the time of verification of original documents.
19. Leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed in terms of instructions contained in DoPT&T’s OM No. 12016/3/84/Estt.(L) dated 12/04/1985, OM No. 12016/l/96/Estt.(L) dated 05/07/1990 and as amended from time to time.
20. No travelling or other allowances will be paid to the candidate for attending the interview and joining the post.
21. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any later stage, even after the issue of appointment letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel the selection list, including any communication made to the candidate.
22. A maximum of 30 days will be given to join the post after declaration of results.
