The Central University of Punjab, has been established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). Central University has completed a remarkable journey of 13 years. University is accredited ‘A+’ grade in 2023 in second accreditation cycle by NAAC and has secured 95th, 87th and 84th, 81st, 100th and 83rd rank in the year 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively in the University category of NIRF. It is credited with highest per capita research funding.
Post : POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from Indian citizens for the following purely industry sponsored project-based temporary position
Title of the Project : First-in-class Small Molecule Therapeutics for Myeloid Leukemias
Funding Agency : Health-Holland (Netherlands) (an International Funded project)
Project Duration : 18 months
Emoluments : Rs. 65000/-
Term of engagement : 18 months or till the completion of the project based on performance and availability of the fund.
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry / Organic Chemistry or equivalent with at least 55% marks in a master degree.
Desirable Qualification :
• Candidate should have experience in in silico design and multi-step heterocycle synthesis, and characterization of medicinal organic compounds.
• Candidate should be familiar with in vitro assays.
• Candidate with a qualified national level exam (e.g. GPAT, GATE, NET, etc.) and publication track record related to cancer therapeutics will be given priority.
Terms and Conditions
i. The above mentioned post(s) is/are purely temporary for a limited period or duration of Research Project funded by the funding agency
ii. Applicants shall be required to show the original documents at the time of interview/joining
iii. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
iv. The University reserves the right to withdraw this advertisement or increase/decrease the number of posts at any time without assigning any reason.
v. The right is also reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill the vacancies. The decision of Competent Authority of the university in this regard shall be final. vi. Suppression of factual information, supply of fake documents, providing false or misleading information or any other undesirable action by the candidate shall lead to cancellation of his /her candidature. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future even after engagement that the candidate was not eligible as per the prescribed qualification, experience etc. which could not be detected at the time of Test/Interaction cum Interview due to whatever circumstances, his/her engagement shall be liable to be terminated forthwith as per this clause and also based on his/her undertaking.
vii. The rules and regulations of Central University of Punjab and funding agency will be applicable to the selected candidates
viii. In case of any dispute, the decision of the University will be final.
