Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non Medical) to work under ICMR sponsored research project titled “Lead optimization studies to identify indole based clinical candidates effective against Multidrug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis residing inside macrophages.” (Proposal ID: IIRPSG-2025-01-03349) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal. The selected candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team to carry out the research project.

Skills required / desired :
• Previous research/industry experience
• Experience in Organic synthesis and purification techniques
• Ability to elucidate the structure of compounds using various spectral techniques
• Experience in designing new chemical entities and confirming novelty through literature survey
• Scientific writing experience with peer-reviewed publications
• Strong communication, leadership, and computational skills
Duties and responsibilities :
• Design new chemical entities, identification of synthetic routes, confirming novelty of NCEs
• Execution of safety and efficacy studies following GLP/ethical guidelines and their documentation
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Manuscript writing and publications/patent drafting
Duration of the Project : Initially for a period of 1 year and extendable up to 3 years based on the performance.
Fellowship : Rs. 56,000/+10%HRA (Rs.61,600/- per month).
