Recruitment for the following post on purely temporary basis in the Extramural Research Project titled “Exploring Circulating Biomarkers for Early Detection and Recurrence Monitoring in Pituitary region tumors". File No. EMDR/SG/9/2025-03457 under ICMR.

Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following posts on purely temporary basis for the above- mentioned project under Department of Neurosurgery, PGIMER, Chandigarh as per the details given below.

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Number of Post : 01
Essential Qualification : 1. Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in any of Life Sciences.
Age Limit : 35 years (as on the last date of application). Age relaxation as per Gol norms.
Job duration : Initially for 6 months and likely to be extended if performance is satisfactory
Monthly salary : Rs. 56000 per month + HRA [56,000 +11,200/- (20% HRA) = 67,200]

Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
Number of Post : 01
Essential Qualification : 1. Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in any of Life Sciences with three years post qualification Experience or PhD.
Age Limit : 37 years (as on the last date of application). Age relaxation as per Gol norms.
Job duration : Initially for 6 months and likely to be extended if performance is satisfactory
Monthly salary : Rs. 67000 per month + HRA [67,000 +13,400/- (20% HRA) = 80,400]

Interested candidates fulfilling the above conditions are required to submit their complete bio-data duly signed and enclosing therewith photocopies of certificates/ testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/experience etc. and affixed with latest passport size photograph and deposit the same in the Department of Neurosurgery, Room No 2, 5th floor Nehru Hospital PGIMER, Chandigarh latest by 20.3.2026. Written exam will be on 23th March 2026 at 1:00pm depending upon number of candidates. The venue will be intimated by email. The candidates are then required to appear for personal interview along with original certificates on 24.03.2026 at 1:00 pm in the Gamma Knife Center, Department of Neurosurgery, PGI, Chandigarh. General Terms & Conditions
1. All salaries & experiences will be as per ICMR guidelines.
2. The above posts are filled-up on purely on temporary basis, co-terminus with the project & the candidate will have no right to claim for permanent Employment under Govt, of India/PGIMER or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
3. No enquiries shall be entertained in this regard after due date.
4. All educational professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/ University and full-time.
5. The experience requirement specified should be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
6. No TA/DA will be admissible to appear in the interview, including (SC/ST candidates).
7. This position will be purely on temporary/contractual basis for the specified period of time and based on project.
8. The salary is a consolidated sum without any other benefits and it is based on experience, qualifications, skill set, etc. of the candidates.

Candidates who have cleared the PGIMER Ph.D entrance exam in Dec 2025, should submit their score card and NOC from their guide/faculty. Candidates under any existing project also should submit NQC from their PI.

Interview : 24thMarch, 2026 at 1.00 pm (at Gamma Knife Center, PGIMER)
