ICMR - National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad is a permanent research Institute under the aegis of Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. ICMR-NIN intends to engage following Consultants and Young Professionals (YPs), purely on contractual basis for short term support in the activities of IT, Administration and Accounts Division.

Post : Consultant (Scientific / Technical - Non-Medical)

Essential Qualifications : Professionals having proven competency and success in their area of specialization, with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience and should possess minimum M.Sc / B.Tech / BE / MCA / MPH / B.Pharm / BAMS / BSMS / MD in AYUSH or equivalent qualifications in Public Health/ Health Service.

Desirable
Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Public Health Nutrition with focus on Nutritional Anthropometry, Diet Surveys, etc. Experienced in planning and execution of community based public health projects. Willingness to travel to study sites across India. 

Note : 
1. PhD will be considered as 4 years experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree). 
2. MPH / M.Tech / ME / M.Pharm will not be considered as any experience. Or Retired Government employees, with requisite qualification and who were in the regular Pay Level-10 and above, and having at least 10 years’ experience in the required specialization.

Age : Minimum 40 years maximum 70 years

Remuneration : Between 1,00,000-1,80,000/- 

Scope of work 
• Coordinate with PIs/Co-Is, site coordinators, and field teams to ensure smooth project operations. 
• Ensure compliance with the approved study protocol and SOPs. 
• Oversee data collection & follow-ups. Supportive supervision and spot training. 
• Monitor e-data systems/dashboards. Support site monitoring & documentation quality. 
• Prepare periodic progress reports etc.

General Terms and Conditions
1. The Director, ICMR-NIN, Hyderabad reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies or cancel/modify the engagement or re-advertise the vacancies, without assigning any reason thereof, and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Any Addendum/Corrigendum in respect of above vacancy notice shall be issued on NIN website. 
2. The Director, ICMR-NIN, Hyderabad reserves rights to consider or reject any application/candidature and terminate the Consultants/Young Professional position even during the agreed contract period or extended contract period without assigning any reason, at any point of time. 
3. Period of Engagement: The initial term of engagement of YP will be for one year which is extendable for two more years (01 year at a time), subject to the requirement of the services of the YP-II in the organization and satisfactory performance of the candidate after evaluation of committee constituted by the Director. Thus, the maximum duration of engagement of YP-II in the ICMR is three years (1+1+1) in any case. For Consultant, the initial term of engagement shall be for not more than one year and subsequent extensions, if any on case to case basis, overall engagement period should not be more than 5 years.
4. Remuneration: Consolidated emoluments of Consultants/Young Professionals will be fixed as per advertised. No House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid to the Consultants /Young Professionals. 
5. The scheme for engagement of the Consultants/Young Professional will be in accordance with the ICMR Guidelines for Hiring Consultants/Young Professionals (YP) circulated vide O.M. No. 16/84/2024- Admn./ e-171470, dated 26-11-2024 and terms and conditions thereon will be as per said OM. 
6. No TA/DA will be paid to attend interview/ personal discussion and candidates have to arrange transport/accommodation themselves. 
7. Qualification and experience should be in a relevant discipline/ field and from a reputed institution/organization recognized by the relevant authority. Experience shall count from the date of completion of the minimum educational qualification. 
8. Submission of incorrect or false information during the process of interview/personal discussion shall disqualify the candidature at any stage. 
9. The contract of a Consultants/Young Professional is of a temporary nature and can be terminated at any time, without any prior notice and without providing any reason for it. However, in the normal course, termination of contract may be done by giving not less than one month's notice by either side at any time, without assigning any reason. 10. Tax Deduction: All Applicable taxes, as per government rules and regulations, will be deducted at source. 


11. Legal Status : The Consultants/YP shall be engaged purely on contractual and temporary basis and will not be regarded for any purpose, as being either an "employee" or “Official” of Council Institute / Center. Further, he/she shall have no claim of further extension beyond contractual engagement or regularization of service in ICMR/or its any Institute / Center or Govt. of India in any case. An undertaking to this effect has to be signed by the Consultant/YP, before joining. 
12. Discipline and decorum: The selected Consultants/YP shall follow all the Institutional norms. Violation of the prescribed provisions will entail breach of the terms and conditions of contract and would attract penal provisions, including termination of the contract. 
13. Insurance: The Consultants/YP shall be solely responsible for taking out and for maintaining adequate insurance, required to meet any of his/her obligations under the contract, as well as for arranging, at his/her own expense, such as life, health and other forms of insurance, as the Consultants/YP may consider appropriate, to cover the period during which they are engaged. 
14. Settlement of Disputes: Council /ICMR Institutes / Center and the Consultant/YP shall use their best efforts to amicably settle disputes, controversy or claim, arising out of the contractual duration. 
15. Conflict of Interest: The Consultants/YPs shall be expected to follow all the Guidelines of the Council/ Gol, which are in force from time to time. He/she will be expected to display utmost honesty, secrecy of office, sincerity while discharging his/her duties. In case service of any Consultants/YP is not found satisfactory or found in conflict of interest of the Council / Gol, his/her engagement will be liable for discontinuation immediately, without assigning any reason thereof. An undertaking to this effect shall be signed by the Consultants/YP, before joining. 
16. Audits and Investigation: Each invoice / bill paid by the Council / Institute / Center shall be subject to post-audit by auditors (Internal / External) from time to time. The Consultant/ YP acknowledges and agrees that, he/she shall provide full and timely cooperation with such investigations / post payment audits, which the Council/ Gol may conduct, on any aspect of the consultancy contract or award thereof. 
17. The selected Consultants/YP must join for duties immediately/within one week from the date of the offer of engagement. 
18. Incomplete applications, without a photograph or without copies of relevant certificates, will not be entertained. Further, without e-mail applications, original applications received during the interview will not be considered.
19. Leave entitlement: The Young Professionals in ICMR-NIN are eligible for 08 days leave in a calendar year on pro-rate basis and 02 restricted holidays as per the rules of Govt, of India/ICMR. Intervening weekly, holidays or gazette holidays during a spell of leave should not be counted against the admissible leaves. The unavailed leaves will not be carried forward to the next calendar year. In addition to this. Female YPs will be entitled to maternity leave as per provisions in the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act 2017. However, there will be no paternity leave for male YPs. Leave shall be as per the ICMR's policy for young professional human resource positions. 
20. Allowance: The Consultant/YP shall not be entitled to any other perquisites like honorarium or allowances such as Dearness Allowance, Residential Telephone, Transport Facility. Residential Accommodation, Personal Staff, CGHS and Medical Reimbursement, etc. 

21. Attendance and working hour/day: The working hours for the YPs will be same as regular employees of ICMR. No extra benefit will be allowed for working beyond office hours. Unauthorized absence for a continuous period of 08 days without valid reasons shall lead to automatic termination of the engagement. 
22. TA/DA for the YPs: No TA/DA shall be admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion. TA/ DA will be admissible to YPs for undertaking domestic tour for official work. 
23. Canvassing and bringing outside influence in any form for shortlisting or employment will be treated as disqualification and the candidate will be debarred from selection process. 
24. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee for shortlisting and selection 
25. Candidates already in regular service under any Central/State Govt./Autonomous/Dept/ PSU are not eligible to apply for this position.

List of Eligible Candidates The list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the ICMR-NINs website. Eligible candidates will be required to attend the written test/interview as per the schedule mentioned in the call letters/email. NIN will invite applications from eligible candidates through an advertisement. The shortlisted candidates shall be called or interview and candidates will be selected on the basis of experience and performance in the interview.

If the number of applications received are more, a Written Test will be conducted before the interview. Final Merit List The final merit list will be prepared based on performance in the Written Test (if conducted) and Personal Interview. It will be displayed on the ICMR-NINs website.
