Career for Research Associate at Institute of Life Sciences

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following position, for a duration of one year; extendable based on performance.

Post : Research Associate-I (02 Positions)

Project Title : Assessment and Evaluation of Therapeutic Potential of Natural Compounds of selected Marine Bioresources under the “Marine Bioresource and Biotechnology Network Programme
Fellowship : Rs. 47,000/- + @16% HRA
Eligibility Criteria :
1. Position 1 (Marine Biotechnology) : Ph.D. in any branch of Plant Science. Research experience in phycology is preferred. The project involves the identification of alga species, and subsequently extraction, purification, and characterization of compounds from lower plants. The candidate having experience in using TLC and HPLC work experience will be given preference. The candidate with first author paper in peer-reviewed reputed journals (Pubmed listed) in the above-mentioned area will be preferred.

2. Position 2 (Drug Screening) : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Science. Experience in cell culture and molecular biology work is required. Research experience in Cell Biology or Cancer Biology or Infectious diseases will be preferred. The candidate with atleast two first author paper in peer-reviewed reputed journals (Pubmed listed) will be preferred.

Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
