The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited on plain paper for the contractual post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)in the DST-SERB funded project entitled “Modulation of Canonical li nt anil cAMP signaling pathway may have Intervention on ASD Rodent model through” under Dr. Ajay Prakash. Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER. Chandigarh-160012. The post is purely on contract basis for one year and may be extendable upon DST-SERB norms.

Qualification : Master’s Degree in Pharmacology / Life-Sciences with any specializations from a recognized university (as per DST rules).

Desirable : Preference will be given to ICMR / GATE / NET qualified candidate and relevant experience in the field along with hands on skills in any one technique such as in silico, cell culture. qRT-PCR. Western blot, flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and small animal handling is desirable.

Age : As per GOI rules

Pay Scale : Rs.31,000/- fixed per month plus HRA (16%)

The above appointment will be purely on contract basis for one year, likely to continue till the project is continued.
