The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit Research Associate and Project Assistants on temporary basis to work in various sponsored projects in this Institute as per details given below. Apart from the candidate selected in the project, a panel will be made, which will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview or another interview is conducted by the Institute for recruitment of similar positions in future, whichever is earlier.
CSIR - Institute of Microbial Technology, Sector-39/A, Chandigarh desires to engage Senior Project Fellows/ Project Fellows/ Project Assistant/JRF(Projects) on purely temporary basis on contract under CSIR, DBT/DST sponsored projects at IMTECH. However, the number of positions may vary depending upon the requirement of the Institute. A General Panel be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview, as per rules.

Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Science, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemical Sciences, Biotechnology with minimum 2 years research experience.
Consolidated Amount: Rs. 18,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month
Maximum age as on 24.03.2014: 32 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIR’s instructions.
Tenure of Project: 5 year
Project Fellow
Project Code/Title: (Project Code –OLP-0105)
No. of Positions: 05
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Science, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemical Sciences, Biotechnology
Consolidated Amount: Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month
Maximum age as on 24.03.2014: 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIR’s instructions.
Tenure of Project: 5 year
JRF(Project)
Project Code/Title: (Project Code –GAP- 89 and GAP0127)
No. of Positions: 02
Essential Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc. in Life, Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics & Bio-technology
Consolidated Amount: Rs.16,000/-per month and Rs.12,000/- plus HRA @ 20% depending upon the sponsoring agency
Maximum age as on 24.03.2014: 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIR’s instructions.

Project Assistant
Project Code/Title: (Project Code –GAP- 128)
No. of Positions: 01
Essential Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc. in Life, Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics & Bio-technology
Consolidated Amount: Rs. 12,000/-per month
Maximum age as on 24.03.2014: 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIR’s instructions.
Tenure of Project: 1 year
The position is purely on temporary on Contract basis for a period of one year on behalf of the CSIR/ sponsorer (DST/DBT). However, the tenure of the Project can be extended depending upon the tenure of the Project and the performance of the candidate. It will be co-terminus with the duration of the project. Contract may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim whatsoever implicit or explicit for consideration against any CSIR post.
Reservation: As regards reservation, if all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC candidates may be given preference over General candidates so as to ensure their representation.
Such of the candidates who fulfils the eligibility conditions may please step in for Walk-in for-interview on 24th March.,2014 (Monday) at 9:30 A.M.(Sharp) in the Seminar Hall of this Institute (CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology, Sector-39/A, Chandigarh-160036) along with complete bio-data in the prescribed format (to be downloaded from IMTECH website) duly signed and enclosing attested photocopies of certificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/ experience etc. and two passport size photographs. Original certificates are also to be produced for verification at the time of Interview.
No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
