Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the research project funded by ICMR, Government of India, at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Title of the Research Project : Noninvasive and in situ forming peptide-polymer hydrogel containing CPP decorated nanoparticles/photoresponsive agents with crystallin aggregates disaggregating propensity for potential cataract therapy
Nature of the Project : The computational & bio-informatic part of the project will be conducted in strong collaboration with the experimental counterparts.
Project Investigators : Prof. Md. Ehesan Ali, Scientist-F
Essential Qualification : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Computational Biology/Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Bio-Sciences/Bioinformatics) and also qualified in national level eligibility tests (e.g. NET/GATE/GPT/DST INSPIRE)
Desirable Experience : Research experience in Computational Biology/Chemistry and Bioinformatics, Molecular Dynamics Simulations, programming knowledge in Python, and experience in handling big data and Data Analysis, Density Functional Theory (DFT)
Age limit : Must not be over 35 years as of 15.06.2026. Which is relaxable for specific reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.
Fellowship : Rs. 56,000/- pm + HRA as applicable
Duration : Initially one year and may be extended based on the candidate's performance and availability of funds.
Mode of Interview : Hybrid mode (Online/Offline)
General Terms and Conditions :
• The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum till the completion of the project.
• The position is co-terminus with the project.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets, and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the interview (when the interview will take in person).
