BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has created the necessary physical infrastructure and critical platform technologies to support research, translation and trainingin biomedical genomics.

Project Description : How genomic variation impacts phenotype is a fundamental problem of disease genetics. Disease phenotype is population specific. Efforts to understand genomic variants to gene expression have been Eurocentric and hence its transability in understanding disease phenotype in other populations, like India has been limited. Genome diversity projects will identify population specific variant distributions, a large proportion of which is novel. Leveraging on the genotype discovery, both protein altering and regulatory, and by associating them with mRNA and protein expressions in blood of individuals, we will identify the expression regulation landscapes. Our goal is to identify functional underpinnings of these novel genetic alterations through an integrated multi-omics approach.

RA-III (01 post)
Consolidated Remunerati on [INR] Per Month : INR 67,000 + 27% HRA P.M.
Essential Qualifications : 1. PhD/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree.
2. Overall 7 years of research experience.
3. Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals in the area of genomics and transcriptomics.
Desirable Qualifications : 1. Experience in multi- omics data analysis pipeline development.
2. Experience in analyzing and interpreting multi- omics data (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic).
3. Documented experience in cell culture, multi-omics data generation (library preparation, sequencing), cell culture and functional/molecular biology assays.
Nature of Duty : 1.Development of NGS data analysis pipelines.
2. Multi-omics data analyses and interpretation.
3. Performing wet lab-based molecular biology assays.
4. Report writing.

Project Associate-I (2 posts)
Consolidated Remunerati on [INR] Per Month : INR 31000+27% HRA P.M. **
Essential Qualifications : 1. Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences / or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
2. CSIR-UGC (NET) /LS or GATE or equivalent National level examinations conducted by central govt agencies.
Desirable Qualifications : 1. Candidates with hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology assays will be preferred.
2. Candidates with previous experience in omics data analysis will be preferred.
Nature of Duty : 1. Performing in vitro functional experiments.
2. Performing multi- omics data quality control and analyses (genomic, transcriptomic).
3.Report writing.

Field Assistant (01 post)
Consolidated Remunerati on [INR] Per Month : INR 20000+27% HRA P.M.
Essential Qualifications :1. Bachelor’s degree in science / 3 years Diploma in Engineering and Technology
Desirable Qualifications : 1. Candidates with previous record of working in clinical/hospital setting will be preferred.
Nature of Duty : 1. Collection of biosamples.
2. Maintenance of biosamples in biorepository, record keeping.
3. Report writing.

**For Project Associate-I, If no suitable candidate is found (point no 2) for then candidate may be given Rs. 25,000/- + 27% HRA for others who do not fall under 2 above [Essential Education Qualification].
The positions are contractual, and appointments will be initially for one year, which is extendable depending upon the performance and requirements of the project.
