Indo-Italy Advertisement for Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry candidates at Gujarat Biotechnology University

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate-1 to investigate on research project entitled “Understanding biogeochemical fate of contaminants in marine ecosystems : prospects of restoration by genome-scale models and bioremediation strategies” funded by India-Italy International Cooperation Division grant, DST-GoI).

Italy partner PI : Dr. Simona Rossetti, Research Director, Water Research Institute, CNR-IRSA, Italy
The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project (03 years).

Minimum essential qualifications :
Ph.D. (Biogeochemistry/Microbial Ecology/Geomicrobiology/metal-organic-microbe interactions/ Biotechnology/ relevant research area) with a good work profile and publication record
+
M.Sc. (Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Ecology or relevant life sciences/Biogeoscience discipline) with a minimum of 60% marks.

Desirable Qualifications :
-Strictly, candidates having prior experience and knowledge in metagenomic data analysis (amplicon and shotgun using Linux and R packages), genome-scale modelling (pathway construction, flux balance analysis, etc.), soil-sediment mineralogical analyses (including X-ray techniques: XRD, XRF, XPS), RNA/DNA extraction, cDNA synthesis and qRT-PCR, organic
carbon/metabolite analysis using LC-MS/GC-MS, are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates having good communication skills and proficiency in scientific writing, and data analysis/ interpretation, will be preferred.

Age Limit : Up to 35 years on closing date of advertisement

Fellowship Duration : Till the end of the project (03 years, subject to satisfactory performance)

Fellowship : Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA as sanctioned
