Fellowships for Post Graduate Professional projects funded by Lady Tata Memorial Trust, PGIMER

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.

Junior Research Fellows (two in no.) are required in the two research projects funded by Lady Tata Memorial Trust, Mumbai, in Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology in collaboration with Department of Biochemistry, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Title of the projects : Project 1 : Tracking Driver Mutations via sequential genomic profiling of Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) and Circulating Tumour DNA(ctDNA) in Cervical Cancer and their correlation with disease out come.
Project 2 : Impact of elective para-aortic nodal radiotherapy on Human papillomavirus (HPV) circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) kinetics in patients with cervical cancer: A nested biomarker discovery study in a RCT

Essential qualification : Post Graduate degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Professional course selected through a process described through one of the following :
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility tests- CSIR/UGC NET/ GATE including lectureship
b. The selection process through National level examination as DST, DBT, ICMR etc.
Desirable qualification : For Project 1: Wet lab experience in handling blood and tissue samples
For Project 2 : Experience in patient handling
Job Profile :
For Project 1: Recruitment of patients from OPD, Collection of blood Isolation of cell free DNA and CTCs and experimental work in the laboratory.
For Project 2 : Recruitment of the patients and following up in the clinical trial

Age : 30 Years(Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/ EWS/Female candidates as per rules)
Salary/Stipend : 37000/- (+ HRA@20%)
