BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute conducts innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects

Project Technical Support-III
Project : Development of qPCR-based diagnostic array for surveillance of emerging and zoonotic viral and bacterial diseases (PRN 04) 
PI : Dr. Niraj Kumar
No of posts : Four posts 
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 28,000/- plus HRA 
Age Limit : 35 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university with three (3) years’ experience in a research laboratory. OR Post-Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university.
Job description/ Skills required : • Culture samples, for isolation and identification of bacterial isolates and performing antimicrobial susceptibility testing, preservation of strains, data collection and maintenance of records, and interlaboratory coordination; • Perform basic molecular techniques like nucleic acid extraction from clinical/environmental/research laboratory samples; design oligonucleotide primers, performing PCR/RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis and/or ELISA; • Cloning pathogen’s genes by PCR amplification from the genome or oligonucleotide- ligation method, site-directed mutagenesis using PCR; and/or • Predicting secondary structure of single-stranded nucleic acid using bioinformatics tools.

Project Technical Support-III
Project : Identification of immunological and virological determinants associated with progression to chronic arthritis in chikungunya virus-infected patients

Age Limit : 35 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university with three (3) years’ experience in a research laboratory. OR Post-Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university. 
Desirable : Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology assays.
Job description/ Skills required : • Candidate will be responsible for viral genome number estimation, neutralization assays, ELISA, and virus isolation from clinical samples during the project duration. 
• Data analysis and interpretation. 
• Basic knowledge of biochemical and molecular biology. Preference will be given to those with experience in cell culture and molecular biology assays.

Project Research Scientist-II (Medical)
Project : Effects of extreme heat on maternal, placental and fetal physiology, lactation and newborn health in India
PI : Dr. Nitya Wadhwa

Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 80,000/- plus HRA
Age Limit : 40 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : MBBS/ B.V.Sc./ BDS from a recognized university with three (3) years’ of post-qualification experience in clinical research. OR M.D./ M.V.Sc./ MDS/ MPH with basic degree as MBBS/ B.V.Sc./ BDS from a recognized university. 
Desirable : • Experience in supervising a small team 
• Experience in data cleaning or central data monitoring and working knowledge of R, Python 
• Well-versed with Good Clinical Practise [GCP] and recent guidelines for clinical research. 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office suit, particularly well- versed with MS excel.
Job description/ Skills required : 
•  Overall efficient day-to-day management at clinical site at Gurugram Civil Hospital for Heat in Pregnancy program. 
• Work with the Site Investigators/ Clinical Coordinator to ensure that the clinical study is meeting its targets, is producing meaningful output and to predict and plan any changes that warrant requests for changes in protocol, funding or timelines. 
• Facilitate recruitment/ enrollment/ follow up of study participants (need to know). 
• Communication: Act as the point of contact for site related aspects for external and internal agencies including ethics committees and other pertinent civil departments. 
• Assess research infrastructure and workload and aid in site setup. 
• Monitoring the study progress to ensure compliance with and adherence to the project plan and to identify, evaluate and rectify problems. 
• Documentation: Creation and maintenance of all study files at clinical sites, including referral sites. 
• Management of referrals going to different hospitals for patient care (Ambulance). 
• Review monitoring findings with the clinical studies project team and provide site documents to update the in-house filing.

Project Research Scientist-I
Project : Development, preclinical evaluation and assessment of protection efficacy of a recombinant Hepatitis E vaccine in a non-human primate (Macaque) challenge model

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Post-Graduation degree, including the integrated PG degree, in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Job description/ Skills required : 
• Working knowledge of recombinant DNA technology such as cloning, in vitro transcription, heterologous protein expression and purification, western blotting, mammalian cell culture, mouse handling and experimentation, ELISA, FACS etc. 
• He/she should be able to perform experiments, maintain records, write reports and order materials related to the above- mentioned project.

Project Research Scientist-I
Project : Development of a Plug-and-Play vaccine platform utilizing OC43 virus backbone for rapid generation of targeted viral vaccines
PI : Dr. Shailendra Mani

Age Limit : 35 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Post-Graduation degree, including the integrated PG degree, in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Job description/ Skills required : 
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques. 
• Expertise in virus preparation and virus neutralization assays. 
• Experience with the generation of pseudoviruses. 
• Experience in gene cloning, protein expression in mammalian cells and protein purification. 
• Familiarity with common laboratory techniques, including gel electrophoresis, molecular assays, and serological assays.
 • Work experience in a BSL-3 (Biosafety Level 3) laboratory environment will be preferred. 
• Experience in writing manuscript and grant annual reports.

Job description/ Skills required : 
• Will lead the data analysis of clinical research data to address research questions in the domain of maternal & child health. 
• Will assist the Principal Investigator and Biostatistician in carrying out day-to-day data analysis and scientific writing– related activities. 
• Work closely with data managers, data scientists, and statisticians to prepare and organize datasets for statistical analysis, and perform exploratory data analysis, data visualization and statistical analysis. 
Research Coordination 
• Track progress of assigned studies. 
• Monitor regulatory and Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) submissions and approvals. 
• Manage data queries and resolution processes. 
Scientific Writing & Reporting 
• Support scientific writing, including preparation of analysis plan, manuscripts, presentations, and analytical summaries for research reports and publications.

OR B.E./B.Tech. in Statistics / Mathematics/Computer Science/ Data Science/ Bioinformatics from a recognized university. OR Post-Graduate degree in Statistics / Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Data Science/ Bioinformatics from a recognised university.
Job description/ Skills required : 
• Assist the Principal Investigator and Biostatistician in carrying out data analysis-related activities. 
• Preparing the dataset for statistical analysis.
• Exploratory data analysis and Data visualization, preparing manuscript-ready figures and tables. 
Data Management : 
• Manage, clean, and preprocess pooled datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data integrity and consistency. 
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data management processes, including data cleaning, merging, and variable creation. 
Data Analysis : 
• Conduct statistical analyses on pooled datasets using appropriate statistical software. 
• Apply various statistical methods.
 • Ensure the application of rigorous data validation and quality control measures throughout the analysis process 
Administrative and Documentation Support : 
• Support in routine administrative, reporting, and documentation-related work as assigned.

For posts mentioned above, interested candidates fulfilling the criteria as mentioned above may walk-in for written test/skill test/interview at 9:00 am on the date mentioned against each positions at THSTI, NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad – 121001. 

NOTE:- 
1) The candidates must bring their latest CV/resume, one set of photocopy of documents in support of their educational qualification and experience along with their originals and a valid ID card for verification. 
2) Candidates coming after the time slot mentioned will not be entertained. 
3) All the candidates coming for written test/skill test/interview at THSTI are mandatorily required to deposit their mobile phone along with valid Identity proof at the reception and the same will only be returned back on completion of the entire selection process.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
a) These are the short-term positions, and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment. 
b) All educational, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University. 
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post. The candidates are required to satisfy themselves, before applying /appearing for the selection process, that they possess the minimum eligibility criteria as laid down in the recruitment advertisement. No query will be entertained with regard to eligibility criteria. 
d) The date of Interview of the respective post will be the CRUCIAL DATE for determining eligibility with regard to age, experience, essential qualification etc. 
e) Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities. 2. By three years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories: (i) UR - ten years, ii) OBC - 13 years (iii) SC/ST - 15 4. Age is relaxable for Central Government servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time-to-time. 5. Institute employees will get the age relaxation to the extent of the service rendered by them as on closing date of advertisement. 6. For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defense forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service. 
f) All results/notifications will only be published on our website. Therefore, the candidates should essentially visit THSTI website, regularly. 
g) All communications will only be made through email. 
h) In case many candidates appear for the walk-in interview, screening will be done to limit the number of candidates to those possessing higher/relevant qualification and experience. 
i) The no. of vacancy indicated above may change subjected to the actual requirement at the time of Written test/skill test/interview. 
j) With regard to any provisions not covered in this notification, the bye laws of THSTI / Govt. of India rules / guidelines shall prevail.
