Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CSMCARI), Chennai is a prominent institution under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. It is dedicated to advancing research in Ayurveda and promoting indigenous systems of medicine. The institute was named after Captain Dr. G. Srinivasa Murthy, a legendary figure in Indian medicine. His disciple, Dr. V. Narayana Swamy, founded the institute, initially named as Captain Srinivasa Murthy Drug Research Institute for Ayurveda (CSMDRIA) in the year 1963 in IMPCOPS, Chennai, with a motive to study the phytochemical aspects of medicinal plants used in Indian Systems of Medicine.

Project : Anti- mycobacterial screening of selected medicinal plants against common pathogenic strains of non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTMs)
Project Duration : 2 Years
Essential Qualification : 1. M.Sc. Biotechnology / Microbiology from a recognized University/ Institution.
Desirable : 1. Previous work experience from the Microbiology/ Biotechnology laboratories under Ayush, ICMR, CSIR, DBT etc.
Emoluments : Rs.37000/- per month + HRA as Admissible.
General Terms and conditions
1. Age Limit : Not more than 28 years as on the date of Interview for JRF. Age relaxation shall be applicable as per GOI rules.
2. The above position is purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.
3. There is no provision for re-employment after termination of project. The selected candidate will not have any right for claiming pay scale or absorption against any regular post being vacant on a later date at this institute/council. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. Candidates attending the interview should produce “No Objection Certificate” in case he/she is employed elsewhere. The engagement of yoga therapist will be purely on contract basis.
