Core Scope : High-Volume Tablets & Capsules (Commercial & Contract Manufacturing)
Core Job Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & High-Volume Execution
• Target Achievement: Plan, schedule, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets for OSD formulations (Tablets and Capsules) to meet an annual capacity of over 1.8 billion units.
• Resource Optimization: Maximize the utilization of high-speed manufacturing machinery (RMGs, FBDs, compression machines, auto-coaters, and capsule fillers) while minimizing downtime and changeover times between product campaigns.
• CMO Management: Coordinate flexibly with cross-functional teams to manage Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) campaigns, ensuring client-specific manufacturing requirements and timelines are strictly met.
2. cGMP Compliance & Audit Readiness
• Audit Leadership: Maintain the shop floor in a continuous state of 100% audit readiness for international regulatory bodies (e.g., TFDA, NAFDAC, PPB) and domestic inspections.
• Documentation Mastery: Review and approve critical shop-floor documentation, including Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Batch Packaging Records (BPR), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Quality Management (QMS): Initiate, investigate, and close deviations, Out of Specification (OOS) results, and market complaints. Implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
3. Technical Troubleshooting & Process Optimization
• Floor Troubleshooting: Provide immediate technical solutions for formulation and machine challenges, such as tablet capping, sticking, weight variation, and coating defects.
• Yield & Cost Control: Monitor batch yields actively, identify avenues of material loss during granulation or compression, and implement process improvements to reduce waste and manufacturing costs.
• Tech Transfer & Scale-up: Partner with the R&D and Technology Transfer teams to scale up new formulations from pilot scale to commercial production, ensuring smooth validation of trial batches.
4. Team Leadership, Safety & Environment
• Workforce Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop a multi-shift team of production executives, officers, and plant operators.
• EHS Standards: Enforce strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines on the shop floor, maintaining compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Inventory & Material Management: Oversee the dispensing and movement of raw materials and active ingredients, utilizing ERP systems (like SAP) to prevent material variances.
