Advertisement for Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology candidates at PGIMER

Application are invited in the prescribed format attached herewith for the following temporary contract positions for ad-hoc research project entitled “Enhancing Infectious Disease Quality: External Quality Assurance Program for Serological Testing of Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) Immunoglobulin M (IgM) under the National Health Research Program (NHRP) on one Health [PI: Dr. Mini P Singh, Prof., Virology] at Dept, of Virology, PGIMER, Chandigarh through written exam/personal discussion.

Number of Post : One

Essential Qualification
12th in science + Diploma (MLT/ DMLT / Engineering or equivalent) + Five Years’ post-qualification Experience in relevant subject / field
OR
Three Years Graduate degree in Life Sciences /Microbiology/Biotechnology/Medical Laboratory Technology or relevant subject / field + Two Years’ post- qualification experience in relevant subject

Desirable Qualification : Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Microbiology/Biotechnology -Experience in Laboratory with respect to handling human samples
Experience in performing serological assays

Age limit : Not exceeding 28 Years (Relaxable up to 3 years for OBC & 5 years for SC/ST candidates)

Expected Salary : INR 20,000/- + HRA (as per rules)

Contract period : Till 15.09.2026 which may be extended further as per requirements/extension of the project

Terms & conditions for the posts are as follows :
1. Only applications submitted either by post or by hand before the last date will be considered. No other mode will be entertained.
2. Age, Qualification, Experience etc., will be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of application.
3. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee selection.
4. The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
5. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments in PGIMER, Chandigarh and in any 1CMR institutes.
6. Benefits of provided funds, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. are not applicable. HRA will be provided as per the rules of the funding agency/ fund received.
7. The experience will be counted only after completion of essential educational qualification.
8. Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department/ Organisations are not eligible to apply.
9. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to selection shall be a disqualification and such candidates will not be considered.
10. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the screening test/interview. No individual intimation will be given for the interview and the candidates should check the institute website for eligibility list and dates of test/interview.
11. Screening test/ interview will be held in-person ONLY at PGIMER Chandigarh. Online mode of interview will not be conducted. The applicants are advised to visit our website regularly for any updates and changes in the recruitment.

General Instructions
1. The Candidates found eligible, will be called to attend the Written test and interview and
they are required to be present at the venue in time as mentioned in the eligibility list posted at the website.
2. The offer of engagement will be subject to verification of original certificates as per the
advertisement.
3. No calculators, log tables, communication devices like mobile phone, Tablet/iPad etc., are allowed inside the Examination/Interview Hall.
4. Requests for re-evaluation of answer sheets will not be entertained.
5. Candidates who resort to malpractice of any kind will immediately be sent out of the Examination Hall.
