The St. John's Research Institute (SJRI) is a part of the St John's National Academy of Health Sciences, which is run by the CBCI Society for Medical Education. From its inception, St. John's has set before it an ideal of excellence in academic courses as well as service to society as a result of which it has truly become holistic both in its outlook and in its approach to the problems of community health.  In 2000, the Academy decided that its commitment to excellence in research required the setting up of an Institute that was dedicated to the pursuit of research and capacity development in St. John's.

Post : Project Technical Assistant - Wellcome Trust DBT-COINCIDE 

Brief Description about the Project : This project aims to evaluate the independent, cumulative, and interaction effects of nutritional, psychosocial, and environmental pollutants on neurodevelopment and child mental health in urban and rural settings across North and South India. It will also identify how these factors interact with socioeconomic position and gender to produce differential outcomes in children.

Position Starting : 1st July 2025

Preferred Qualifications : MSc life sciences / Nursing
Maximum Age Limit : 30 years 

Salary : INR 29,565/- month - Initial period 3 months, extension possible upto 1 years subject to satisfactory performance.
Language : English, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi
Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years 
Location : Bangalore


Roles and Responsibilities
• Experienced in phlebotomy, particularly skilled in drawing blood from pediatric/child populations, ensuring comfort and minimal distress during the procedure
• Provide technical support specifically focused on screening and recruiting participants for the research projects.
• Assist in the Project related activities 
• Collate, analyse, and manage nutritional and biochemical data, contributing to research publications and report writing based on study findings.
• Travel to field/home for  data collection.
• Support any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI) related to the project.
