Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Project Associate-I = 02 Posts
Essential Qualification:- Masters / Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences/ MVSc/ Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University.
Desirable qualifications:- Work experience in microbiology & molecular biology techniques, especially microbial cultivation, preservation, molecular identification, and bioinformatics tools.

Upper Age limit (years):- 35 years Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC /ST/ PwBD/ Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Monthly Emoluments:- (i) Rs.31,000/- +HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
(ii) Rs.25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Senior Project Associate = 01 position
Essential Qualification:- (i) Masters/ Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc/ Animal Sciences. Or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. And 3 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.
Or
(ii) Masters/ Integrated masters in Engineering or technology from a recognized University.
Or Doctoral Degree in Science/ Pharma/ MD/ MS from a recognized University or equivalent. And 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable:- Experience in microbial genomics and metagenomics, basic immunological/ microbiological/ molecular, biology techniques, handling clinical samples and cell based culture. Experience on working with infectious agents and handling microbes, identification, characterization and preservation.
