Advertisement for PG in Life Sciences, Biotechnology at Siddha Medicinal Plants Garden

Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) under Ministry of Ayush is an apex body for conducting research in Siddha system of medicine and provides health care facilities through its 8 peripheral institutes / units and 5 co-located units of CCRS. The Council is engaged in multifaceted research activities. In the area of clinical research, pre-clinical Pharmacological / Toxicological studies, Open label trials, multi-centric Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) are being conducted for acute and chronic diseases. The main emphasis is on diseases of national health priority with a view to develop safe and effective Siddha treatments.

Siddha Medicinal Plants Garden, Mettur Dam (SMPG) functioning under Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Ministry of Ayush, Govt, of India has proposed to engage the Service of Senior Research Fellow (Plant Biotechnology/Life Science/ Botany)-l(One) and Junior Research Fellow (Botany)-l(One) for the IMR Project entitled ‘Establishment of DNA barcode library of medicinal plants used in Siddha system of medicine conserved in Siddha Medicinal Plants Garden, Mettur Dam’. The selection will be made on the basis of performance in Walk in interview to be held at Siddha Medicinal Plants Garden, Camp Office Mettur Dam, Salem District, Tamil Nadu-636 401. If number of applicants exceeds, written test will be executed for short listing the applicants, in that case only short listed candidates will be eligible for interview.

Senior Research Fellow (Plant Biotechnology/Life Science/ Botany)
Number of Vacancy : 01 (One)
Age : Not exceeding 32 years as on the date of Interview. (Upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt, of India Rules).
Essential Qualification : M.Sc., Ph.D., in Botany / Biotechnology / Life Science with 1 year of research experience in DNA extraction, DNA Barcoding, Data mining etc.
Remuneration : Rs. 42000/- per month + 30% HRA (Consolidated).
Walk In Interview : 23rd June 2025, 10 A.M at Camp Office, SMPG Mettur Dam Posting at : Siddha Central Research Institute, Chennai.

Junior Research Fellow (Botany)
Number of Vacancy : 01 (One)
Age : Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of Interview (Upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt, of India Rules).
Essential Qualification : M.Sc (Botany) with 1 year research experience in Taxonomy Remuneration: Rs. 37,000/- per month + 10% HRA (Consolidated)
Walk In Interview : 25th June 2025, 10 A.M at Camp Office, SMPG Mettur Dam Posting at: Siddha Medicinal Plants Garden, Mettur Dam.

The posts are purely on temporary basis. The terms and conditions of the appointment shall be governed in accordance with CCRS by laws.

*Candidate who apply for age relaxation should submit appropriate certificate issued by the concerned authority.
**No other documents like TC/Passport/Registration Certificate/ ID cards/Driving License etc. will be accepted as Proof ofAge.
b) UG, PG, PhD Degree Certificates and Mark Sheets
c) Experience Certificate, if any. It should be indicating the Name of the Organization/Institute, duration of employment (date, month and year), nature of duties held etc.
d) Copies of the Abstracts/e-prints of Articles published, if any in support of the publication in Journals.
