The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Applications are invited on plain paper for the contractual posts of Senior Research Fellow (No. posts=04) in the DST funded project entitled “To create an awareness regarding the rational use of medicines and current drug resistant profile (antibiotic resistance) among school students” under Dr. Bikash Medhi, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh-160012. The posts are purely on contract basis for one year.
Qualification : First Class Master's Degree in Pharmacology/ Life- Sciences From a recognized university (as per DST norms) along with 2 sears of rules ant research experience.
Desirable : Preference will be given to GPAT/ GATE/ NET or equivalent exam qualified candidate.
Age : As per GOI rules
Pay Scale : As per DST norms
The above appointment will be purely on contract basis for one year, likely to continue till the project is continued. Interested candidates fulfilling the above criteria are required to submit their bio-data and necessary testimonials/certificates by 27th June 2020, in the Department of Pharmacology, Room No. 4043, Research Block B, 4th Floor, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

No separate interview letters will be sent. No TA/DA will be paid.
