Walk in interview for Junior Research Fellow at TANUVAS

The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College).

A walk-in interview would be conducted for the following positions in the DBT funded Projects(as detailed below) under the Canine Research Centre and Networks in the Department of Clinics, Directorate of Clinics, Madras Veterinary College Campus, TANUVAS, Vepery, Chennai – 600 007.

Title of Project : DBT funded project on “Development of Point of Care diagnostic typing modalities for major blood groups and therapeutic Canine Blood Components for critically Ill dogs”

Junior Research Fellow
Qualifications : Post graduate degree in basic sciences with NET qualification (or) Graduate degree in Professional course (Life Science) with NET qualification (or) Post graduate degree in professional course (Life science)
Salary (Consolidated) : Rs. 25,000 /- per month with 30% HRA (Rs. 32,500/-)

DBT funded project on “Mass sterilization of dogs using single intravasal injection of functionalised polymers”

Junior Research Fellow
Qualifications : Post graduate degree in basic sciences with NET qualification (or) Graduate degree in Professional course (Life Science) with NET qualification (or) Post graduate degree in professional course (Life science). Additional experience related to teaching or research in the area of Animal Reproduction is desirable.
Salary (Consolidated) : Rs. 25,000/ + 30% HRA per month (Rs.32, 500/-)

The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project
Instructions:
• Candidates with the eligibility are requested to walk into the Department of Clinics, Directorate of Clinics, Madras Veterinary College Campus, TANUVAS, Vepery, Chennai-7 for the written test with original certificates in support of age, qualifications, Photo ID and experience certificate (if any) atleast 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
• Working personnel are requested to attend the interview with No objection letter fromthe present employer. No. TA and DA will be provided for attending the interview.
• The written exam would be for one-hour duration withmultiple-choice questions in english for JRF and in tamil for Laboratory Animal Attendant.
• The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority.
