Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, comprising of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, was accorded the status of University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, vide Notification No. F.9-39/2001-U.3 dated 11th January 2003 of the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, New Delhi, and (ii) Notification No.F6-9/2003 (CPP-I) dated 24/01/2003 by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Essential : MSc Microbiology/ MSc Biochemistry / MSc Zoology/ MSc Biotechnology/MSc Life Sciences/ Biological Sciences/ MTech Biotechnology/ MSc Bioinformatics/ MTech Bioinformatics or Graduate degree or Post graduation degree in Professional course with NET (National Eligibility Test) qualification or equivalent examinations conducted by various Central Government Departments/Agencies such as

2. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
3. JAM (Joint Admission Test)
4. GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test)
5. BET(Biotechnology Eligibility Test)
6. BINC(Bioinformatics National Consortium)
7. JEST( Joint Entrance Screening Test)
8. JGEEBILS(Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences)
9. NBHM Ph.D scholarship Screening Test
10. ICMR- JRF Entrance Examination
11. AICE (ICAR-All India competitive Examination )
(For all above examinations valid score considered at the time of interview)
Desirable: Knowledge and skills in Bioinformatics tools/ softwares/Animal tissue culture
