The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India is establishing the Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), as a national institute in the "Knowledge City", at Sector-81, SAS Nagar, Mohali (Punjab). This futuristic innovation institute of its own kind in the country would advance knowledge, leads and emerging technologies/processes towards applications and products and link them with entrepreneurs in the area of bioprocesses, bio-products, value-addition to bioproducts with special reference to the agri-food sector. To support and steer this mission of secondary agriculture biotechnology and realize the vision of catalyzing technology translation catalyzed side-stream products from agriculture activity and farm income augmentation, the institute requires following temporary research positions on stipendary / fellowship / associateship basis:
Post: Research Associate, Junior Research Fellow
Research Associate (Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology)
Age (as on 14-08-2015): 35 Years
Qualification: (i) Ph.D# in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology
or having 3 years R&D experience after M.Tech in relevant area
and
(ii) At least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.
Fellowship: Rs. 36000/- + HRA
Research Associate (Chemistry)
Age (as on 14-08-2015): 35 Years
Qualification: (i) Ph.D# in Chemistry
and
(ii) At least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.
Fellowship: Rs. 36000/- + HRA
Junior Research Fellow (Biotechnology)
Age (as on 14-08-2015): 28 Years
Qualification: (i) Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences with NET* qualification
OR
(ii) M.Tech (Biotechnology)
Fellowship: Rs. 25000/- + HRA
Junior Research Fellow (Chemistry)
Age (as on 14-08-2015): 28 Years
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Sciences with NET* qualification
Fellowship: Rs. 25000/- + HRA
* NET Qualification for the above mentioned positions (wherever applicable) shall include CSIR-NET, other National Level Examinations conducted by DBT, DST, DAE, ICMR etc.
# The candidates who have submitted Ph.D thesis will also be eligible for the position of Research Associate but they would be treated as and paid equivalent to Senior Research Fellow (i.e. Rs. 28000/- + HRA) till successful completion of Ph. D thesis viva.
Application Procedure
The interested candidates may appear for a Walk-In-Interview on 14-08-2015 along with the application form (in the prescribed format) available on the website www.ciab.res.in. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of the registration from 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM on 14-08-2015. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates would not be interviewed.

• The applications should be submitted in the prescribed format that can be downloaded from the CIAB website : www.ciab.res.in.
• Completed applications to be submitted at the time of registration at CIAB Interim Facility, C-127, Second Floor, Phase-8, Industrial Area, Mohali-160071, Punjab from 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM on 14-08-2015.
• All the positions are based at Mohali, Punjab but some works may be assigned to be carried out at outstations also.
• Number of positions may vary.
• If in any area no suitable candidate is found, no selection would be made in that case.
• No TA/DA etc. would be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
• Candidates should bring their original documents for verification and one set of photocopy (for submission) of their all relevant certificates related to education, experience, publications, thesis/dissertations etc. at the time of interview.
• Candidates found eligible after scrutiny of applications post registration, shall be required to appear before a Selection Committee. Kindly note that in case there are substantial number of applicants, the Chief Executive Officer, CIAB reserves the right to devise such criteria as deemed fit to shortlist the candidates for the interview. If required, a written test may also be conducted to short-list candidates. The decision of the CEO, CIAB to conduct a written test shall be final and binding on all in this respect.
