Pharma and Science Openings at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.

Post : Project Associate-II (1)

Applications are invited for filling up the following posts on a purely contractual basis for the research project titled "Development of a non-invasive CRISPR-based salivary cell-free DNA diagnostic test for pediatric pulmonary tuberculosis” funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), New Delhi, under the supervision of Dr. Indu Verma, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, PG1MER, Chandigarh.

Qualification : Essential: Four years Bachelor's Degree in Sciences / Master's Degree in Sciences / BVSc/BPharm or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and two years' experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable : Prior hands-on experience preferably in the field of tuberculosis and molecular techniques.

Salary (As per ANRF) : 1. Rs.42,000/- + HRA to scholars with (a) National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE; or (b) selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies/Institutions.
2. Rs. 33,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) and (b).
