NIMHANS is conducting a Walk in Selection for filling up the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contract basis for the Project Entitled “CSF vs Plasma drug levels: Investigating therapeutic drug monitoring in CNS penetration of antifungals for cryptococcal meningitis” funded by ANRF under Dr. Nagarathna S, Professor & Head of Neuromicrobiology & Principal Investigator. NIMHANS, Bengaluru-560029.

Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No. of post : 1 (One) 

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Medical microbiology/Biotechnology with at least 1 year of practical experience in diagnostic microbiological laboratory techniques, with a particular emphasis on knowledge and hands-on expertise in HPLC and experience in clinical sample collection and processing. Candidates with qualified national level examination conducted by NET/CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/MHRD or equivalent may be preferred. 

Desirable Qualification : 
• Experience in HPLC, patient recruitment, and collection of clinical samples. 
• Sample preparation and processing of plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens. 
• Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), research documentation, and project coordination. 

Job Description : 
• Patient recruitment, clinical sample collection, and processing of plasma and CSF samples. 
• Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of antifungal agents using HPLC. 
• Data documentation, analysis, and maintenance of study records in accordance with Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices (GCP/GLP)

Emoluments / Salary : Rs. 37,000/- + 30% HRA PM for NET Qualified National Level Examination.
Rs. 30,000/- + 30% HRA PM for without Qualified National Level Examination.

Maximum Age Limit : 28 Years
Duration of Project : 2 Year 10 Months
Duration of Post : Initial Appointment will be made for a period of 6 months and renewable every 6 months based on performance of the candidate till the end of the project

Note :
• Candidates are required to report/join 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the interview/written test, whether conducted online or offline. 
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview. 
• Candidates currently working in projects (Extramural/Intramural) at NIMHANS must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator. 
• The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% in the written examination (Whenever written examination is indicated) to qualify for the skill test/interview. For Direct Interview the candidate should score at least 50% Marks in the interview. 
• The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate. Possession of the prescribed essential qualifications alone does not guarantee selection. 
• No hostel accommodation will be provided for project staff.
