National Chemical Laboratory Pune, established in 1950, is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NCL is a science and knowledge based research, development and consulting organization. Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : (i) Master/Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University AND Three(3) years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR (ii) Masters/ Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent AND OR Doctoral Degree in Science/ Pharma/MD/MS from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable Qualification/ experience, if any : Candidates with demonstrated research experience in molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology, protein/peptide engineering, recombinant protein expression and purification, and biochemical characterization are encouraged to apply. Hands-on experience in insect molecular biology, insect physiology, RNA interference, insect cell culture, qRT- PCR, protein interaction studies, bioinformatics, structural biology, metabolomics, or insect bioassays will be preferred. Candidates with a strong publication record and experience conducting independent research projects will be given preference.

Job requirement : The selected candidate will work on the development of engineered growth-blocking peptides for sustainable management of Helicoverpa armigera. The responsibilities include molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, peptide engineering, biochemical and functional characterization, insect cell-based and larval bioassays, gene expression analysis, data interpretation, and preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, patents, and project deliverables. The candidate is also expected to assist in mentoring junior researchers and coordinating project activities.
Consolidated emoluments per month : (i) 42,000/- + HRA

Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : Bsc/Three(3) years diploma in Engineering & Technology
Desirable Qualification/ experience, if any : Masters/ Integrated Masters in Life Sciences or Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent will be preferred. Candidates having hands-on experience in molecular biology, recombinant DNA techniques, cloning, protein expression and purification, insect handling and bioassays, RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, or basic biochemical techniques will be preferred. Experience in insect cell culture, bioinformatics, metabolomics, or protein characterization will be an added advantage.
Age Limit* : 35
* The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/women, and 3 year for OBC candidates.

Job requirement : The selected candidate will assist in research related to the development of engineered growth-blocking peptides for sustainable management of Helicoverpa armigera. The work will involve molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, insect rearing and bioassays, RNAi experiments, gene expression analysis, biochemical assays, maintenance of laboratory records, data analysis, and assistance in preparing project reports and research publications. The candidate will also support routine laboratory activities and other project-related research tasks.

Consolidated emoluments per month : 20000/- + HRA Increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in same project

The engagement will be coterminous with the tenure of sponsored project subject to satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an online interview. For online interview URL link will be provided to shortlisted candidate later via email on or before 30/07/2026.
