Research Scientist Career at PGIMER - Salary Rs. 67,200 pm

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Post : Project Research Scientist -C (Non-Medical)

The following posts arc proposed to be filled up on a purely contractual basis for the project entitled •Multi-centric syndromic surveillance of Acute Febrile Illness (AFI) in North-West India” funded by ICMR. New Delhi under Dr. Mini P Singh, Professor, Department of Virology at PGIMER, Chandigarh

Number of Post : 01 (UR)

Essential Qualification : Post Graduate degree (MSc) including the integrated PG degree from a recognized university in any of the following subjects :
Medical Microbiology/ Microbiology/ Virology/ Zoology/ Parasitological/ Genetics/Medical genetics/ Biotechnology/Genomics/Biochemistry with three years post MSc experience or PhD in relevant fields.

Desirable Qualification : Experience in molecular microbiology/virology Experience in microbiology/ viral diagnostics and research

Upper Age limit : Not exceeding 40 Years (Relaxable up to 3 years for OBC & 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per Gol instructions or refer to point (h) of ICMR notification no. 16/29/2023/Admn/E.Office No 157401 dated 18.10.2024)

Expected Salary : Rs. 67000/- + HRA as admissible

Contract period : For a period of 6 months (which may be extended further as per requirements/extension of the project)

Terms & conditions for the posts are as follows :
1. Candidates for all the posts are required to join at the earliest.
2. The engagement of the individual in the post will be on a temporary basis till 6 months (may be extended based on performance and/or further extension from ICMR
3. The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
4. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under PGIMER, Chandigarh.
5. Benefits of provident funds, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. are not applicable.
6. The experience will be counted only after completion of essential educational qualification. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee selection for the above mentioned post.
7. Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department/ Organisation are not eligible to apply.
8. The candidates are advised to visit the institute website i.e. pgimer.edu.in (Information or Candidates) on a regular basis for other updates and no separate intimation regarding the written test or interview will be sent.
9. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the screening test/interview. No individual intimation will be given for the interview and the candidates should check the institute website for eligibility list and dates of test/interview.
10. Screening test and Interview will be held IN-PERSON ONLY at PGIMER Chandigarh. Online mode of interview will not be conducted.
