The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory.
Post : Project Scientist-1 (PS-1)
Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Scientist-1, sanctioned for the project funded by the Gates Foundation, at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine, Bengaluru - 560065.
Remuneration : Rs. 56,000 plus 27% HRA
Essential Qualification : PhD Degree in Life Sciences from a recognised university or equivalent. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following :
• Research requiring cell biology techniques including culturing routine cell lines, maintenance of stocks and transfection.
• Cell viability, toxicity and immunostaining with antibodies.
• Protein extraction, Biochemical and biophysical methods to characterize the isolated proteins with desirable properties.
• Plan experiments, order reagents, and adhere to protocols.
• Routine molecular biology work such as cloning, nucleic acid isolation, and sanger sequencing.
• Regular data analyses, project updates literature surveys and presentations on the target.
• Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually.
Max. Age Limit : 40 years

Tenure : Contractual appointment for eleven months, renewable based on the requirement and review of progress and the requirement of the Grant.
