The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Applications are invited on plain paper for the post of Project Research Scientist-I(Non-Medical) under ICMR-funded project entitled “Development and evaluation of a highly sensitive molecular method for diagnosis and screening of drug resistance in patients of extra pulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB)” to Prof. Kusum Sharma, Principal Investigator, Dept. of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Essential Qualification : 1. First class postgraduate degree, including the integrate PG degree
2. Second class postgraduate degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD
Desirable : Preference will be given to NET / GATE cleared
Upper Age limit : 35years (Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/ PH/Women candidate as per rules)
Remuneration : Rs.56000 + 20% HRA (As per ICMR Rules)
The engagement in the projects is purely on temporary basis for approximate 01 year period of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended on yearly basis depending upon satisfactory performance and co-terminus with the project. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice OR stipend thereof. Please note that it is not a PGIMER / ICMR, N. Delhi appointment and will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.
